Monument Valley needs to be seen. Pictures alone do not do it justice. I highly recommend taking a tour of the back country. There are very spiritual places that can only be seen with a Navajo guide. We went on a sunset tour and caught all of the horses grazing with the monument in the background. Our guide even stopped to let us mingle with the horses. It was amazing. You can travel with your own vehicle, but you only can see so much.

A fantastic place to stay if you are visiting Durango. We stayed in a cabin right next to the small creek. You could hear the water running all night. If you don't mind the 5 mile drive into town then this is the place for you. We also saw tons of animals, wild turkeys, beavers and even a quick view of a lynx.

A very special place. Even if you are not a spiritual person you can't deny the energy felt when you enter. It was extremely sacred and beautiful to visit.

Incredible! One of the most magical places I have ever been. Come around sunset to watch the sands change color with the sky.
