Nice diversion to visit. The steam train wasn't operational, but we took a battery operated car on tracks into the mine. I am glad I took a hooded jacket and jeans bc it was chilly and damp. Wear good shoes bc it's cold damp ground. No flip flops;) The tour guide was informative. Brings appreciation for the fact coal miners have worked in extremely hard conditions. It was nice to see daylight after only a 35 min tour!

Great stay. Clean, quiet. Polite, friendly staff, every thoughtful accommodation..details like a robe hanger near the shower, toiletries in the rest rooms, great breakfast, cookies at front desk, easy check.in and out.
