Our rate included a Good Sam discount. This campground is mostly long term residents, perhaps a mix of permanent and seasonal - I’m not sure for we hardly saw or heard them. It is neat, well maintained and quiet as well. There are 10 - 12 transient sites in the middle of the campground. We were there the first part of the week. One night the transient sites were almost full and the other nights only 1 or 2 others. The bathroom is nothing to write home about, but it was clean. It is located in a double wide with a laundry room and a tv lounge. The sites have no privacy, but are nice gravel pull thrus with a garbage bin, water, electric, sewer and cable. WiFi was great during the day, but slow in the evening. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. A very short “nature hike” leads to the river. Besides being a quiet place to spend the night, this campground is well situated to see Mobile - half way between Mobile and the USS Alabama battleship (not to be missed! plan on spending the day.) We also enjoyed the WildNative Eco boat tour at Spanish Fort. This is not a destination campground, but I give it four stars because it works so well for a city camping spot.

Not a destination campground, but very convenient for overnights. Our site was level so we didn’t have to unhitch, which is always nice. That looked to be true of most sites. Staff were friendly and restrooms were clean. We didn’t check out the laundry. Sites up on the hill (21-30 and 40-47) look to be long term. I gave 3 stars for access because some of the roads (gravel) through the campground are steep and we had to negotiate some rather significant ruts. However the two big piles of gravel would suggest those ruts are scheduled to be fixed. No privacy, but we were creek side, which we enjoyed. They don’t take reservations more than 24 hours out and your site is assigned when you check in. Campground WiFi was excellent in our site.

This campground is hard to rate. It would appear that they have been improving since the last review. People were using the pool, which looked nice and clean. There is also a playground, tennis courts, a basketball court, a volleyball court and a baseball field. The bathhouse appeared to be freshly painted and was spotless. Showers had plenty of pressure and hot water. The sites are hard packed sand/dirt/gravel - as are the roads - but they are basically level and shaded. It looked like the majority of the sites are long term vacation spots. Most were well maintained. Our only problem was with the power. At the first site we had, our EMS showed only 108 volts. That dropped to 95 when the air conditioning was on. Our EMS did its job and shut it down. We went back and asked for a different site, but that next site was running our AC at 104 volts - still not good for the AC. We finally moved ourselves to a third site that has 50 amp power, rather than 30 amp, and the electricity there held just fine. Staff were accommodating, and we were allowed to stay at the 50 amp site at no extra charge, but they were rather brusque when presented with our concerns and requests. However all worked out and it turned out to be a nice stay for us. Just be sure to check voltage when the AC is on. There are some very good aspects to this campground, but the only way we had sufficient power was to go to an upgraded site, which would be even more expensive. We would look for another campground first. However, if the electricity situation were to be resolved, we would be glad to return.

We were looking for a place to store our trailer while visiting family. The manager let us park on a regular RV site but only charged us the tent, no hookups rate. She was very friendly and accommodating. We passed what appeared to be a nice pool. There was also a big playground. It looked like there were quite a few permanent campsites - perhaps used as weekend getaways. The campground is hilly and the roads were very rough. Many of the empty sites we saw were not very level, though ours was fine. Our site was on grass with plenty of privacy. Lots of trees. This campground is way out in the countryside of PA. We won't be back because it is so isolated, but it could be a quiet getaway destination. The address is Dalton, but the campground is out by Lake Winola.

This very convenient campground is mostly pull-thru sites. The concrete ones had a level pad big enough for very large motor homes, but the tow behind vehicles were a little sloped off the back of the motor homes. The grassy pull-thrus were nicely level though just barely long enough for our 30ft trailer and crew cab truck. The edges of the campground were a little messy with some older stored RV's, but other than that all appeared well maintained. There is only one bath house/rest room building and that is located at one end of the campground but it is huge and spotless. Sites are pretty close together, but no issue for an overnight. Price is for full hook-ups with cable TV and fairly fast internet. We were happy campers!

This campground is easy on and off I-77. The managers are extremely friendly and accommodating. Most of the sites are permanent or long term, but all is quiet and well maintained. It appears that the transient sites are mostly together near the front. The laundry/shower/restroom was immaculate. The friendly resident we met confirmed our opinion of the managers and a well run operation. This was a good stop. Note that they do not except credit cards or participate in any discounts.

The main attraction here is the availability of water sports. Rentals are available for canoes, kayaks and motor boats. There is a glass bottom boat tour, snorkel tours, and scuba diving tours and courses. We definitely recommend the snorkel tour -- beautiful! Beach areas are available for swimming and walk-in snorkeling. You can fish from the shore or from a boat. There is a very nice aquarium at the Visitor Center that is worth a visit. Also we enjoyed walking the short nature trail a couple of times. As noted in a previous review, this park is very busy with day visitor activity, so we too appreciated the gated campground area. But the campground.....the sites are clean, level gravel and the bathrooms/showers were nice, but the sites are close like a parking lot with virtually no vegetation for privacy. Also the sewer connection for your neighbor is unfortunately placed next to the place you'd like to set up chairs under your awning. The bottom line: this is a great base for water activities, but not the spot to slow down and enjoy the campground atmosphere.

This was a good stop for us. Our pull thru site was really two smaller sites nose to tail. It worked very well: smooth and level. We saw plenty of activities for children including pool, playground, game room, mini-golf, and big jumping pillow. There is an additional fee for both the jumping pillow and day guests. Many of the sites were permanent or long term, but all was neat, well maintained and pretty much clustered away from the transient sites. The bath house was updated and very clean. We arrived right as a tornado warning was issued and before we could ask, were told where the safe place was located. Watch carefully for the turn off Walnut Bottom Rd. It's a turn onto a residential street. Cell service (Verizon) varied from minimal to just usable. Same with the wifi.

We enjoyed our overnight here. It’s a small campground with essentially no vegetation between most of the sites, but there is plenty of space for privacy. Everything is well maintained and manicured. The bathrooms were older, but very clean with plenty of hot water. There is a good-sized indoor laundry room that was spotless. Though the campground is small, the park has plenty to do. There appeared to be canoes or kayaks available to rent. There is a large day use area with playgrounds and a splash pad for children. We walked several of the trails: the Beaver Trail along the lake, the Lime Sink Trail, and the Woodpecker Trail that leads to the spring. We didn’t see the resident gators, but there were lots of turtles in the spring waters. If we could have stayed another day we would have checked out the history museum and earthen works here. This was the location of Camp Lawton, a Civil War stockade prison. Our only complaint was the $5 parking fee added to the camping fee. Note that the $34 rate includes a senior discount.

We loved our stay. The small, quiet campground loop is just off the day use area. The campsites were reasonably private with plenty of shade. In the day use section there are lots of picnic areas, a couple of nice playgrounds and a pond, along with 3 wild peacocks who have taken up residence. There is a loop drive around that whole section which makes for a lovely walk. Across the road the park continues down to Lake Apopka where the sunsets are beautiful! There is also a boat launch available. From there you can take a path that follows around the lake. We hiked just a short distance and didn't make it past the first section that follows the road. I believe the majority of the path leaves the road and is right by the lake. It looked like an excellent route for bicycles.
