We came thru on a Wed night in Sept. very quiet, nice views of the lake, electric site only, 50amp, fairly level site. Husband says the bathroom is ok, not horrible like others experienced.

This resort was not 55+ when we booked but it became one as of 10/1/22. Older community and amenities are getting a little tired but it's clean and there were no junky looking sites. Homeowners take pride in their place. Decent price for full services. This is the first "resort" we've stayed at so don't have anything else to compare it against. Offers many daily scheduled activities like card games, billiards, dances, raffles, aqua aerobics, crafting. Has all the resort amenities like full hookups, propane service, mailroom, golf (tired), gym (very tired but usable), pickleball (seems updated), tennis, restaurant, cantina, laundry, showers, heated pool, hot tub, decent size library. Located on Colorado River but also sandwiched between Interstate 8 plus active freight train line and farm fields. I-8 can get loud, farm field smells sometimes. It's tucked in the northwestern corner of Yuma and about 20 minutes to town & interstate access. The WiFi was OK.

You can either choose a spot on the golf course or near the pet area. If you're on the golf course, they provide a fence to put in front of your rig to help deflect errant golf balls. Spacing between rigs is decent. If you're in the pet area, you're away from the golf course and spots seem a little tighter there. Mostly gravel with a concrete patio.

They also have a storage area so we left our car here while we went to Mexico with the rig.

This is our first Campendium review! Easy to get into as new RVers. Huge regional park with campground at the back. Our site was nicely level and equipped with 50 amp service and water. We were far enough away that we could hardly hear the gun range but the tent sites on the outer loop were closer and louder. Park has a nice little store, water park, disc golf. Bathrooms were clean with showers and laundry facilities. Manassas Battlefield Park is just down the road and worth a visit. Take the Henry Hill walking tour.

9 sites total, no camp hosts, 7 sites are $10 and 2 double sites are $20. 3 day limit. Closed for the season after Sept 30. Pit toilet. Great cell service on the big 3 providers.

So wonderful to have a bike path to Sun Valley right outside.

We spent the Christmas holidays here for two weeks. It was a great place to really slow down. We didn't have any of the noise problems that others wrote about. It was pretty quiet during our stay. Higher elevation makes it feel a lot different than the usual southern AZ experience. No saguaros, more scrub.

Cell service in our west side spot near the visitor center was OK but the east side was zero bars. Campground is off the highway a couple miles down a winding, hilly road. Suggest arriving in daylight. Fisherman seemed to love the lake. Park offers inexpensive $7 boat rides in the mornings and sometimes at twilight. They also rent boats and kayaks. We saw many amazing sunsets during our stay. Great picnic area to eat and watch the birds over the water and the sunset.

The sites vary wildly across the park for size, check the descriptions carefully. There was one gentleman with a junky site that looked like he was living there but they eventually got him to leave. They also have boat-in sites. The birding trail was fun and we also enjoyed the longer hike below the dam. We saw coatimundi on the trail below the dam, that was a first.

Beware walking on the park "grass" with dogs or fluffy slippers. The grass is full of stabby, tiny little burrs that get everywhere. We're still finding them in our rig a month later.

Park is about 30 minutes from Nogales (grocery stores, Walmart), 20 minutes from the cute town of Patagonia (amazing restaurants but that's about it), and 45 minutes from the wine country of Sonoita. There is a pricey camp store on site.

Much prettier than the two other nearby state parks - Cattail and River Island. Because it's on a bend in the river, you feel a little surrounded by the Colorado. Beautiful cliffs on one side (but also views of two RV parks on the CA side). No road noise because it's tucked around the mountain (River Island gets lots of road noise). Many sites had good tree coverage. Bathrooms were tired and had weird short doors with little privacy for the dressing area part of the shower. Cell coverage was crap.

The bridge south of the campground was recently inspected and has issues. Changed to only allow 3 tons. Still accessible from the north.
