Seeley Lake Campground is one of three nestled among the pines that surround Seeley Lake. We ended up staying two nights here instead of one because we liked it so much.

There are two loops, the east loop is close to the lake and ideal for taking small watercraft from your campground, but tended to have the bigger and noisier groups of campers. The west loop is closer to the road, but the road gets virtually no traffic and the campers there were generally quieter and smaller groups in our experience.

Great campground by the lake! Plenty of spots to pick from on a Sunday afternoon. The camp hosts were very kind and gave us change for our larger bills. We walked through the forest and along the lake - very peaceful and well kept! There’s even a swimming beach.

We ended up extending our stay because there are lots of things to do around here and great cell/internet service (working and streaming). While the park is filling up for the 4th of July holiday, we have had good neighbors and enjoyed the peaceful setting.

Easy access to the trails outside the campground, paddling on the lake, and nearby fishing on the famous Blackfoot River, hiking, mountain biking, and 4 wheeling. The cabin of Norman Maclean is adjacent to the campground (he wrote A River Runs Through It). I have not yet seen Brad Pitt or Robert Redford - but I can hear a distinct voice-over whenever I am out casting a line.

Each spot is paved, most are relatively flat (easy to level) and several will fit the larger rigs. We are a 31ft Class A and had no problem getting through the park or finding a long enough spot. No reservations, so once you find a spot you can stay put.

Pro Tip - There are 3 tucked away spots on the lake that are accessed through the day use area. While they may be a bit noisy, as you have the lake noise. I think the views would make up for it.

Water is available at several spigots throughout the park - but no hooking up hoses (not threaded and have the paddle handle that you have to hold on for water flow). No dump station in the park.

Each spot has a picnic table and fire ring. Plenty of warnings about bears and packing away food, but we haven't seen any signs of them in the campground. I recently found out there are 13 packs of Grey Wolves in the greater forest area -- but they are as scarce as the bigfoot.

Hosts are very nice and constantly on foot walking the campground. Quiet hours are observed and overall a really nice campground. We did hear about a few campers getting some coolers stolen -- maybe it was the bears or bigfoot?

The town of Seeley is a quick bike ride away for groceries, ice cream, and DEET. The Mosquitos are the only downside -- larger and more aggressive than the grey wolves, they hunt in packs at dusk and will happily hide in your RV and wait for you to go to sleep before attacking.

Stop by the local Forest Service office for great maps for hiking, mountain biking and more.

Stayed 8/12/19 to 8/19/19. This was one of the best camping experiences I've had yet and I think a lot of that has to do with how awesome the hosts were. As soon as I pulled in and started backing into a site one of the hosts, Chuck, pulled up and asked if I wanted any help. Then once I got all setup another one of the hosts, Aliza, stopped by and introduced herself and seeing that I had a dog with me, offered to take me out to show me where I could bring my dog to swim on the beach. This was not only really helpful, but also a great icebreaker with the hosts so for the rest of the week I felt really comfortable chatting with them and asking them questions.

I also noticed that the hosts were out working pretty much all day every day. They were blowing off the roads, picking up trash, etc. I saw my neighbors leave and within 5 minutes Aliza was at their campsite raking the fire pit, picking up trash, and doing general cleanup for the next people that took the site. All their hard work really showed too because the campground looked immaculate, which was especially amazing considering the number of people that go through there.

All the sites are paved and mine was pretty much level. Behind it was a huge open area with a fire ring and picnic table. I had fantastic Verizon service the whole time I was out here (almost full bars). The beach is awesome and my dog and I had a great time hanging out there. The bathrooms also were very clean and nice. There are water spigots around the campground, but they don't have threads on them so you'll have to just fill jugs. The campground also has several dumpsters. Overall I was really happy to pay $10/night for these amenities.

A couple of things worth noting though. First, if you rely on solar you might have a tough time here. It's in a very dense forest and not a lot of sunlight gets through on most of the sites. I ended up relying pretty much exclusively on my generator. Second, some parts of the road are kind of tight and you might brush across some limbs that are hanging over a bit. The sites themselves though are mostly pretty spacious and easy to back into. And finally, this is definitely a busy campground with tons of families and kids coming through here. If you're looking for peace and quiet and solitude this probably isn't the place. But if you're looking for a fun environment with a lot of nice people and water activities, this is definitely the place to be.

The others have pretty much covered it all. Def some day traffic on the weekends due to the public shore access and the boat launch. Great spot. Highly recommend.

We originally planned to be here 2 nights but extended it a week bc we loved it so much here!
The camp host is very nice, quick to help, and very laid back.
If you have solar, look for campsites in the left loop as it’s not as shaded. It’s also the loop closest to the lake.
All the sites are very big and spread out from another. We have a 30’ fifth wheel and thought we could fit in any of the sites.
It does get quite a bit of day use bc the lake is so nice for swimming and there is plenty of day use parking and a few boat launches.
In the summer it gets packed for camping so it will be hard to find a spot if you’re arriving Thursday- Sat. I’d look at Big Larch if you can’t get a spot here.
There are nice flat trails just outside the campsite for hiking or biking. Also go the ice cream shop in town for the best burger and shake!

We pulled in around lunch time on a Tuesday and thankfully (and luckily) found the only spot left. We had no issues getting our 36ft travel trailer parked. The campground is well kept, loved all the blueberry plants - they are literally everywhere and the beach was well used by us every day. The park is busy throughout the day with people coming in to use the beach and boat landing. It didn’t affect our time at the campground though. Would love to make our way back here someday!

The bridge south of the campground was recently inspected and has issues. Changed to only allow 3 tons. Still accessible from the north.
