I recently stayed here for a weekend trip to Iowa City and it is absolutely delightful. The hosts are so extremely hospitable and accommodating, and they make the most delicious breakfasts every morning. The rooms are very clean, nicely decorated, and have everything you need. The location is perfect and within walking distance to all the downtown spots. Will absolutely stay here again!
There are a ton of campsites here, and plenty of space for RVs. Sky High is open year-round and sits right on top of the Cascade Mountain Ski Resort. Perfect spot for an extended stay in the winter!
Only 30 minutes north of Madison, and just three hours above Chicago, Cascade is a surprisingly big resort for such a small hill. Fun lifts, family-friendly, and excellent hot dogs. All of the gear feels new and of good quality. Can definitely do this trip in a day!
Stunningly beautiful church right off the side of the road. There’s a dirt pull out you can park in and walk up close to the church. Try to go during the day when it’s open and check out the stone windows inside!
Such a beautiful building, and an amazing historical spot in downtown Chicago. Even if you don't stay at the hotel, you can still stop by and check out the lobby, read about the history of the automobile, and enjoy a glass of "Giggle Water" at the small lobby bar. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself walking around Michigan Ave!
Totally free to the public and very cool interior. In addition to the Tiffany dome, there are multiple floors of art exhibits and galleries.
A lovely garden in the middle of the foothills. This garden is pretty expensive, with multiple ponds, a large rose garden, plenty of oak trees, even a Japanese-style terrace. They also have nice bathrooms, a gift shop, and a restaurant. In the winter, they have an evening light show that is worth checking out (tickets are a little on the pricey side).
Such a gem of a place! Not only does the place serve awesome Chicago dogs, but there is a mini museum in the back full of cool entertainment and Route 66 memorabilia! The owners and staff are unbelievably friendly and welcoming. And you can’t miss the giant statue out front. This place is an absolute must-stop.
