Stayed here in 2016 and would never again. We booked a private room with a bathroom. First of all, the door did not lock. We could not get a hold of anyone to remedy this so we put a chair under the door knob while we slept. The bed was the worst, most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. The bathroom was not clean. The toilet had urine and feces under the toilet seat and dripping down the bowl. The shower had pubic hair in it and massive soap scum. I will say that the rooftop was nice with a great view. We enjoyed that until a bunch of obnoxious drunk guys from a bachelor party arrived and pestered us and urinated in all the potted plants. Needless to say, I do not recommend this place.
I stayed here while on road trips twice. We had originally booked at another hotel but, after further research, we found this hidden gem and cancelled the other reservation. I cannot express how much we enjoyed our time here. Clean and quiet with amazing staff full of great recommendations of things to do in the area. We were so satisfied after staying here two nights in 2014, that we stayed here again in 2016 for three nights, and plan to again this year (2018) for four nights. The view from our room was wonderful and we found it quite tranquil to just sit on the balcony before going to bed. There is also a restaurant with a bar within walking distance where we got a good breakfast every morning and dinner some nights. I highly recommend this place!
I stayed here in May 2014 and really liked the place. It was very unique and cozy with much of the decor being 1950s/1960s. It was small, pretty clean, and had the best water pressure of any hotel I've ever stayed at. It was $35(cash only) a night. There were many stray cats roaming outside at night. Not a big problem but I always went in and out of our room quickly because they seemed like they wanted to get in. The woman there was extremely nice, helpful, and accommodating. The morning of check out, she showed my boyfriend and I behind the hotel where there were several animals (including goats, guinea fowl, chicken, donkey, etc.) that she was feeding. We joined her and took pictures. I'm sad to announce that it closed in December 2015.
