The views are just amazing-sit a bit on one of the memorial benches and relax. Romantic sunset area.
The parking is limited and is at the end of a dead-end street in a neighborhood-be respectful of the home owners drives. Go up the stairs and enjoy the views! One of my favorite stops while traveling up the Pacific Coast Highway!
Beautiful...nice open area for walking along the beach and look out over the water. The sound of the water hitting the rocks was so relaxing in the cove.
This little gem was just that with wonderful staff, great cook, and oh my the evening happy hour treats! Only negative thing I'd have to say is there was no A/C and it was pretty warm at night even in April. We found the walk/bike path along the water starting at Lovers Point a nice walk to everything.
I have to say this place has it all, almost! Bike rentals with paths on the beach, very clean beach with soft sand, action everywhere. The only bad experience I had was with the restroom, not all were dirty though. I say if not going for the day, plan to stay at least 2-3 hours. Oh and be kind tip the street shows you stand and watch, $1. Or $2. Dollar they are entertaining you or don't watch!
The end to Route 66 is the only reason I even stopped- very busy and parking is $12.00 no mater how long you stay. Have kids then it may be worth it since there is rides and games-$4.00 to $8.00 a ride or $25.00 for all day per person. It's one of those been there done that for myself!
Beautiful, wear good shoes and hick down the cliff trail to the wonderful beach. Does have a few picnic tables at the top to enjoy the view from while eating.
See Mugu Rock for my review, sorry!
Sorry my last review is about Point Dume Beach-not Mugu Rock!
Mugu Rock is also a nice stop to walk around with great views. However, it is easier for parking reasons to stop when traveling south on PCH. Park at the top pull-out just after the Rock.
I found Mugu Rock a very relaxing beach that was not crowded and had clean restrooms. You must go through where the old ticket booth sits even though it don't look like the public is allowed past that point. The road is paved, but does narrow down. Take the time and go around that bend, it's worth it if you are adventurous at all. Plenty more parking spots with clean restrooms!
