Interesting stop. It’s kind of morbid but fascinating too. They put and X in the street where Kennedy was shot. But honestly the traffic in Dallas had me wondering if it was really worth it, people there drive like maniacs, and trying to navigate an RV on their highways was nerve wracking! (And I lived in LA!!!)
It’s a cute museum, worth a stop for the novelty of it. The admission was cheap so we didn’t mind, but I agree the museum itself could use some updating. It gave a great description of the events of the Roswell event and timeline and some alternative facts and ideas.
It’s a quiet little town with a lot of history. Worth a stop! You get to see where Billy the Kid use to run around and actually walk through the same building he was held before his final escape. It’s really a hands on kind of museum. We thought we would be there for 20 mins but ended up spending two hours.
It sounded like a good idea, but when we got there no signs were displayed pointing to the detonation site. You just had to assume where it was based on online photos. Also beware there is NO cell service out here so download some offline maps or cache your route before you get there!
Very cool park! It’s more of a drive through park on your way to your next destination but worth the stop for sure!
This was a really neat stop! Free admission for military and if you stay in the RV park it’s a free night stay with military ID plus 5 cents off each gallon of gas you buy. Everyone was super friendly and the crater itself was amazing!
Best views of the Grand Canyon!
Gorgeous views! Stop by soon because they plan to start charging people to visit next year!
This place was so beautiful! Definitely worth a stop. It’s so amazing to see drawings from so long ago and to be able to walk right up to them and touch them. Really amazing!
Great spot for the night. Everyone was very friendly and courteous! We didn’t have a VFW membership anywhere but my bf is a VFW so we were able to stay in the guest lot for about $30/night. It had water and electric. For a $25 deposit you could get a keycard to use the bathroom/shower (which was super clean btw) and laundry on site (1.50/load), we were given the full deposit back upon return of the key card. The cantina was huge and they had good music, food, and conversation. Pool tables and cheap drinks. It was nice to relax after driving for so long, and to be within walking distance to the RV since we had our dogs with us. It was a quiet park. The gas station down the street was the cheapest gas we encountered along our whole cross country trip so that was a nice surprise. We would definitely stay here again! It’s not too often you come across a VFW with an RV Park!!
