The Visitor Center at the Desoto National Wildlife Refuge was the best visitor center we've ever been to. The architecture was beautiful, the displays interesting and well documented, and the Bertrand Steamboat exhibit so extensive and fascinating! The driving and walking trails were lovely and peaceful, and even when the weather isn't conducive, you can view the wildlife from the indoor observation areas, with lots of seating, large windows, and mounted binoculars. As an added bonus, the ranger at the desk was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. All in all, well worth a visit!
