Our favorite close to home place to camp. Beautiful large pond with walking trails around it. Decent bathhouses. Level, sandy loam sites. Fairly close to Delaware beaches without the crowding.
The Boardwalk Loop was fantastic! It started raining and the 'boards' (not made of wood), became slippery. Also, we couldn't complete the loop as a part of the Upper Boardwalk was closed. Even so, the trees and diversity of plants and animals was terrific.
A long trip from Newark, Delaware staying overnight at a RV camp along the way. Our site is spacious, under some trees (by request), flat with pine needles and leaves carpeting the sandy soil. A beautiful view of the camp lake and, further out, after more RVs, the ocean. The bathrooms aren't a quality and as clean as we expected. The Wi-Fi signal is week. More after we rest and settle in.
