Mingus Mill
The farm museum is impressive. Come at the right time of day and you'll see wild elk grazing in the fields around it.
I'm writing this to mark Mingus Mill. Built in 1866 and still a working producing mill. You can buy meal and grits here. Fantastic watching the operation of an over 150 year old mill. We got to watch the curator shit the operation down for the night. Amazing what you can move with water and 11HP.
Yes I have been here. This is a fat mans Mecca.
I went with my family when I was a child. We really enjoyed it. This was when the park was open. I took my family for a private tour with Cindy the realtor from Emerald Mountain Realty, "The Caretaker of Oz". It was well worth it. She gave my daughter Logan a small basket with a stuffed Toto in it and for the time we were there Logan was Dorothy. Great family memory. Even brought home some chips from the yellow brick road.
