We arrived just before rangers were going home. The staff were great and the facilities were clean. I preferred the dry camping sites because there is more privacy. If you get hookups you don’t have any really privacy from neighbors. We were in site 58. It was flat, large and allowed sun. We were fogged in so no chance to see sun :( There is a scenic view area near by as well as the stairway down from the camp into town. There is no fire ring at the individual campsite. There is a communal fire ring.

Rangers from various parks have told me it does not get busy until Canada Day (July 1). So it was easy to get a spot upon arrival. There were some families around enjoying the beach and campground. It was a good place to crash for the night as we drive down from northern Nova Scotia toward Halifax.

There is a lot to do at this campground. It looked liked they were clearing space for new site. The bathrooms were very nice, love those free hot showers! It was very buggy since were had a nice spot in the woods on the water.

We were visiting the area and this was an easy spot to get to as well as being close to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. The staff were very friendly. Some sites are more private than others. Our back in site was level with plenty of sun. The buildings are well maintained, making them feel recently renovated. Everything was very clean. We will come back and use this site as our base camp for multiple nights. The WiFi was good.

We stayed here Sunday - Thursday in mid September and there was plenty of open spots. That was great because sites are close to each other. Some sites might have a few trees/foliage between them, others not so much. I am glad we were camping with friends in the spot next to us. I have a 21 foot MB Sprinter van and was able to get around without issue. The street within the camp has some sharp turns which can cause anyone pulling a trailer some issues. Our friends towing a 24’ trailer behind their truck (with plenty of towing experience) had to really work to back into their site. Don’t let the camp map fool you to think you have lots of space. The showers are $0.25 for 3 minutes, and a $0.75 minimum. The dishwashing stations were great to use. The facilities are taken care of and clean. It is about a 1 mile walk into town.

I would give this place 3.5 stars, but rounded up because the staff are so nice. I did not think the roads were bad coming in. We arrived opening weekend and stayed in D7. The gravel pad was level. This is an old local campground filled many locals. Many people leave their rig here for summer camping. Everyone is really nice which is good because the tree cover between spots was thin so you don’t have any privacy.I was heading west and only stopping for one night. If had kids with me they could stay busy in the pool, playground, scheduled camp activities and I like I could have rented a canoe or kayak. Bathrooms and showers were fine. The WiFi was solid the whole time.

We arrived without a reservation just before they close and nobody was at the gate. With 1 bar of cell signal we were able to get a spot with online booking. Since it was a Monday night as well as thick, cold fog for June 1 there were plenty of spots open. We had a seawall site. If the weather was nice I guess the views would be pleasant. The area for the seawall is just a big stone parking lot, so nothing special about the site itself. I am glad it was sparsely filled because I would not want to be there when they are busy. With it just being an open parking lot, you can hear every noise from the other campers.

Loop C spot 126
Great campsite and would come back again. The unusually warm, clear and sunny weather in Mid October was a bonus too. I made a reservation which made my late night arrival easy. There is a reservation board at the checkin desk with campers who had not arrived yet. If you see your name you can drive to your site and then swing back in the morning to check in. Otherwise it looks like you have to use their checkin phone posted outside to call them up. Park ranger was very nice when I stopped by in the morning. Loops A, B, and C each have short trails to the beach. This is more of a scenic sandy beach. The wind is strong and so are the currents. You can hear the roar of the ocean throughout the campsite. The bathrooms were plenty and the free hot showers were well maintained. I like there was also a recycling station, dump station and water fill station at the park. There are plenty of simple to moderate hikes to enjoy while in the park. There is a store at the entrance of the park though I did not need to stop there. My paved spot was level and the greenery, shrubs, trees between spots was a little thin but adequate. Don’t expect great privacy.

We were only at the campground for 1 evening and the next morning. Check in was easy and the camp wood for $6 was a good amount and dry. Bathrooms were clean. One toilet was clogged and it was resolved by staff pretty quickly. Wish we had more time but we were on a bigger trip with a tight schedule. Depending on where you were in the park we either had no cell signal, or 1 bar of AT&T. I was teased with 2 bars for about 1 minute.

We stopped here on Mother’s Day on our way to the Columbus Zoo. The bathrooms and showers are a little old but clean nonetheless. The ranger rolled through checking on sites. I liked that there was thick forest vegetation between our sites for good privacy. It was early in the season and on a Sunday night so there were a lot of empty spots. Camped here 40+ years ago when I was a kid and enjoyed bringing my family here.
