My son had just moved to Tucumcari with his two babies (his wife had recently passed). He had no power in his house yet and it was getting cold at night so I drove over to the Safari Motel to get a room for them for the night (Xcel couldn't come until the following day). The woman I dealt with (manager or owner) was so incredibly rude and refused to take payment from me since I wasn't the one staying at the motel. She basically shut me down and just left me standing there by myself in the parking lot - it was pretty surreal. I've never heard of this practice and was just so shocked by her rudeness - especially given the circumstances. Glad others had a better experience - maybe the customer service is reserved for passers through and not Tucumcari residents.
