where is the story??? Just a bridge?
Beautiful, quiet, puzzling place.
Kinda cool just while you’re driving by on the interstate to know some history of the area. You can see the old railroad tracks running parallel to the new.
In 1868 hundreds of Railroad workers lived here as a tunnel was dug thru the mountain for the trains. A boarding house and Roundhouse to turn the Locomotives around in were built here. Nothing is left there now other then the above sign for the Railroad.
Meh. It’s ok if you REALLY need to stop for a break. Everything was WAY overpriced! 4 inch plastic statue of a crow, made in China was $39.99.
If you love natural wonders...this is a great (not crowded) little stop. Plenty of parking...a little tricky to find but just look for signs. Beautiful, clean. Bring your swimsuit because you’ll wanna jump in just to say you did. There was a dive instructor there taking. Some people down and he visit with everybody and told stories of the place. There used to be a natural slate rock roof over it but it collapsed. Additionally, the underground entrance where the spring empties into the pool they closed off because people were going in and never coming back out. They but a tombstone marker under the water at the entrance.
