We stayed in an RV at Verde Valley Thousand Trails. It is close to area attractions like Sedona, AZ, Old Town Cottonwood, AZ, Jerome, AZ, Out of Africa Wildlife Park, Tuzigoot Ruins and Montezuma's Castle and Well. There are several very different kinds of RV sites. There are ones that are gravel with great views of the valley and are very large, some with trees and some with grassy lawns. Most of them had full hookups, with a few that were water and power only. If you stay in one of the sites up on the hill, you will have better views of the valley but the majority of these sites are gravel sites, all the grassy sites are in the valley or the lower level of the resort. We were there over Halloween weekend and they had several activities planned. A Halloween party and dance, a car show and a concert. They have 2 clubhouses at this park and both were nice and decent activities at each one. The lower clubhouse had the pool and outdoor activities like basketball and pickleball, while the upper clubhouse had cards and games. This resort is very quiet and peaceful. There are 2 dog parks at this resort and numerous hiking trails as well. The only real drawback to this resort is they do not have onsite laundry facilities; you need to go into town about 5 miles to do your laundry. Not a huge deal but not as convenient as onsite laundry. We stayed in one of the lower sites and it had great camp side space with fairly large grassy areas but the service/hookup side was pretty tight. All in all, this was a great resort and I would recommend staying here. Please check out our full review on our YouTube Channel @Seeking70Degrees.

Lake Havasu State Park is a beautiful campground. It is right on the water and the sunsets are amazing. Would highly recommend this park. It is close to the Famous London Bridge and downtown Lake Havasu. Restrooms/showers were clean and the dump station was conveniently located. All sites are power and water only and almost all the sites have water views. The sites have blacktop and picknick tables, some with shelters over the tables and fire pits. Sites are spacious and hookups are easy to get to.
For being a state park, it was very quiet and peaceful. A unique feature at the park is the Cactus Garden located in the middle of the park. It was a very relaxing walk looking at all the different types of cacti that were represented there. For more information you can check out our YouTube video @seeking70degrees.

The park is conveniently located off the freeway but far enough off that it is very peaceful at night. The sites are spacious and have a concrete pad for putting out lawn chairs and such. There are two sides to this park, one side for RV's and one side for permanent park models. There is a huge pet area at the back of the park for you to let your furbaby run around and let go of some energy. The club house was large and had a nice pool area and the grounds were very clean and well kept. One thing that did surprise me though, is they were charging for the entertainment, there was a concert and they were charging a cover charge, this has never been my experience at a Thousand Trails park before, maybe it is normal for an Encore park to charge, not sure. There were plenty of washers and dryers in the laundry area compared to other parks I have visited. There is not a lot to do around this park but it is not too far from downtown Yuma.

This has to be one of my favorite campgrounds I have stayed at. Highly Recommend!!!

If you are not familiar with Best Friends Animal Society, they are the largest animal sanctuary in the United States. The Sanctuary that is located in Kanab, UT is 6,000 acres of total property, the actual sanctuary and its facilities takes up 4,200 acres of that and houses approx. 1,400 animals. If you are familiar at all with the Michael Vick dog fighting situation, Best Friends is the sanctuary that took in all the dogs that were confiscated by authorities, called the "Victory Dogs".

We stayed in their RV campground for 10 nights. We were able to volunteer at the sanctuary (which I highly recommend) and went on all the tours they had to offer to really get a feel for the work the do there. Added bonus, they have a buffet lunch served every day at the Angels Cafe, located in the upper part of the sanctuary, for just $5.00 per person. The food was AMAZING!!! (The buffet offers 1 main dish, 2 sides, salad bar and dessert) It's very convenient especially on those busy volunteering days.

The Campground is very quiet with amazing views on both sides of the canyon. There are 18 sites and all of them have full hookups, garbage pickup and free fast Wi-Fi. The camping surface is concrete and each site has its own picnic table. There are two sections to the campground, the first section is site 1-8 and is the older of the two, it has larger bushes and gives you a little more privacy between the sites. The second section is 9-18 and is a little more open. This section does have 2 pull through sites, all others are back in. Currently as of the date that we stayed there, they do not have restroom or shower facilities at the campground, but I was told by the Hospitality Director that they were building shower and restroom facilities that are located in-between the two sections and the ETA for completion is end of November 2023. They do have laundry facilities in town at the Roadhouse Motel, located in Kanab about 7 miles away, which is also owned by Best Friends, The Roadhouse also has a pet spa for washing your dogs after a day of hiking and exploring. On Saturday nights, they usually have a concert in the outside courtyard at the Roadhouse.

Rates for this campground are $71.00 per night for non-members and $51.00 per night for members. To become a member, all you need to do is give at least a $25.00 donation each year.

I would recommend this campground if you are just stopping for the night or if you are going to stay and visit the sanctuary or do some sightseeing in the area. It is close to the Pink Coral Sand Dunes, Zion National Park, North Rim of the Grand Canyon and numerous other hiking destinations. I have included pictures of all the campsites to help you decide which one is right for you.

We have done a video review of this campground on our YouTube channel. If you want to check it out, we are @seeking70degrees.

Volunteer at the sanctuary. Take 1 or all of the tours the sanctuary has to offer and get a feel for just what they are doing to reach no-kill by 2025. Make sure you sign up for your volunteer slots and tours with as much advance notice as possible, they fill up fast. Hike the many trails that are on the property (the property is 6,000 acres and the sanctuary is comprised of 4,200 acres). Go and explore the local parks and outdoor activities the area has to offer.
