I was lucky enough to make it out to Waymore’s for a quick visit before James Jennings closed up shop on a Wednesday night. Oh yeah, Waylon’s brother, James, started this whole thing years ago after his petrol station went under. He decided to throw up a liquor store in one day, then thought he’d add all of his personal memorabilia of his brother to the other side of the shop. Waymore’s was born.
This place has; A napkin with Elvis’ signature, Johnny Cash’s old jacket, Waylon’s guitar, Family pictures, Letters from the road that Waylon wrote his folks, Heaps of Whiskey and Inexpensive hats & shirts to take home.
I’ve traveled a great many miles, and this spot is atop the list of favorite memories. What a cool little town of Littlefield and what a great man ol’ James Jennings is!
All the best,
Rusty
