Awesome food
Panoramic view of West Maui
Grave site of the famous aviator Charles A Lindbergh
Elevation 6,800 feet. 30 minute, 0.5 mile walk through a magical forest. A free trail brochure describes plants and other resources found along the way. Home to many native and alien species of birds, plants and insects. One of the best spots on Maui for watching native forest birds.
Charming lodge near "downtown". Didn't stay here but we did go to a diner theater show on the grounds.
We were there in August so no snow but that tram ride up to the top was beautiful. It's really a great view and I would reccomend not missing it. Take a wrap though because there was wind the day we were there.
Wonderful place to visit. You will need a full day here. We took the park bus and they stopped along the way and told you what you were seeing. The tour busses told me that this wouldn't happen unless I booked them. Glad I didn't believe them as we saved a lot of $. If you have a National Parks pass they will take a few $ off your bus ride also.
The Upper Maulua Unit of Hakalau Forest National Wildlife is currently open to the public for wildlife-dependent activities such as hiking, bird watching and photography. All other units of the refuge are closed.
Small-town atmosphere. Incredibly awesome food. We had the salmon and avocado sandwich and a cup of mushroom and Brie soup.
Expensive but completely worth it. My vege bliss wrap and my husbands spicy vege burger were great. Don't forget to try an oatmeal raisin cookie dough bite before leaving. You won't be sorry.
