We were pleasantly surprised to find this little gem at the end of hiking the Rubicon trail before backtracking back up the trail to our car. This area is the prettiest in Lake Tahoe. Vikingsholm Castle sits at the mouth of Emerald Bay and there is also a structure out on an island which requires some sort of water transportation (boat, kayak). It offers tours of the castle for a fee.
