The travel center is closed. There are porta potties on the side for travelers to use.
Lovely place to stop to learn some American history. Gold rush mining town.
It is off a gravel road , that is easy to navigate.
Friendly people, costs $8 to tour the restored town.
It was a beautiful place to visit. The Painted Desert was breath taking. Each turn in the road gave another magnificent view of the natural beauty. The Petrified Forest was a quick drive through, there were places to pull off the road to see the remnants of a once lush forest.
Stop at the Gift Shop to get an over view of the National Park .
This is on privately owned land. It was closed over Memorial Day weekend. Not worth the extra miles driven.
It is worth getting off the Highway to stop in this little town. There are beautiful murals painted on buildings around downtown. There are Civil War Historic Murals and Industry Murals and just folks Murals. There is grocery store to stop and buy provisions on the main street.
Nice Small town, a great break from Highway driving. There is an Ice Cream shop next to the Worlds Largest mailbox. We drove around town, stopped for gas and continued on our way.
It was very cute! There was a very very large pitch fork and we took funny photos! w nice little park a place to just rest from a long drive. There is a restaurant next door.
Great place to stop and buy authentic handmade Zuni jewelry, pottery and other crafts. They also sell crafts from Navajo and other tribes.
