Very good food. I would eat here again. I had the Brunswick Stew and pulled pork shoulder. I didn't care for the sauce...too heavy on the vinegar for me, but it was served on the side, so that made it perfect. I am also not a huge fan of sauces in general, so my assessment of it may not be fair. I loved the pork.
I would do 3.5 stars, but it didn't let me. We had a hot tub room with a balcony view of Lake Huron. Our view was EXCELLENT. The hotel itself is a bit dated and could use some tlc, but it is not bad. Everything worked except the ice machine in our "wing"...so we just walked a little further. Not really a problem. Room was clean. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and engaging. They called to check on our approval of the room, setup the shuttle for us to Mackinaw Island and answered many questions about destinations in the area. It would seem some of the guests had issues with their key cards, but hubby and I think this was more due to a lack of understanding on the functionality of how RFID chips work--never had a problem with our cards. Really just a bit of a need for tlc is where this hotel garnered the 3.5 star rating. We would stay here again.
