We were not impressed with this place.
The room smelled terrible, like dirty dishrags and wet dog. The toilet had pubic hair in it and the bathroom floor had a few dead bugs in the corners. Although the water pressure was great in the shower, the drain was backed up so you were standing in dirty water. There were only 2 bigger towels in the room with 4 people.
The air conditioner worked well but if you want to use it, you're going to be dealing with the horrible smell being blown into the room even more. The TV remote didn't work, I'm guessing it needed new batteries. The alarm clock wasn't plugged in and the microwave wasn't set. I know that seems like petty things but for almost a $100 a night, I thought it would be better.
The hallways and lobby weren't air conditioned so they were hot and sticky walking in them.
They had a nice workout room and it even had some claw games and a video game but no way to get quarters around it. The washer and dryer were in the room too which was a nice option to have but again there is no way to just get quarters yourself.
The vending machine with food wasn't plugged in, they do have a soda can machine which was nice and you could buy some drinks in the lobby which we did.
The carpet needed a good cleaning because it felt dirty on bare feet. The beds were a bit broken down as they sunk in the middle and they smelled like the room so it was hard to sleep.
The view outside our window was a rock wall, which was actually kind of cool. you're within walking distance of a Dunkin donuts, and Taco Bell, Culvers and Candy/Ice cream shop without having to cross a really busy street. Even though that was nice I would never stay here again.
In all honesty I wouldn't have minded this place with all of the other crap if it wasn't for the smell.
For $5 a person you get what you pay for. It's fun to walk through but you can tell no one gives a crap about anything in there. It's dirty and stinks everywhere. The only saving grace of it is the awesome statues out front that you can take pictures with for free . I'd say go once to see it but never again.
This place needs a revamp, ASAP. It looks exactly how it did 30 years ago which isn't a good thing. It seems like nothing has changed. Stuff was falling apart, looked uncleaned in about a decade. The first set of bathrooms smelled incredibly strong of urine, men's and women's. There were huge strings of spider webs on things that could be easily cleaned. It was a joke in my opinion. My kids had fun doing some of the stuff in there but I don't see us going back again.
We had an awesome time on our Duck Tour! I recommend going on it at least once in your lifetime. Our driver/guide was quick with the jokes and the history of stuff on our tour. If you don't want to get wet I recommend not sitting in the back seats.
This place is really amazing to look at, as for the quests.....we gave up after 30 minutes of walking in circles and just explored all the spaces. It's not chunky person friendly in my opinion. My family had fun seeing everything and it is beautiful in there.
It's a nice zoo, but nothing extraordinary. I felt sad for the big cats as they had very small enclosures compared to their size. It was HOT out there and they only have 1 place to buy water and even that had only outdoor seating so it was very hard to try to cool down out there.
It was cool that you got to buy food to feed different animals.
We were excited to see the Rhino but it was inside which was a bummer. For the amount of money you pay to get in, I expected more.
