This is one of the greatest perks of living in northeast Ohio! I love biking and running this trail. If you're visiting Ohio and you don't have a bike, I recommend renting bikes at Century Cycles on 303 in Peninsula. If you go north, you'll see the highway bridges and a lot of beautiful scenery. If you go south, toward Akron, you'll also see some locks and you can stop at Szalay's farm and buy some goodies. When you go back to return your bike, you can eat at Winking Lizard Tavern and get some of their famous wings and a few beers. I go here a few times a month in summer and always have a great time!
We visited this place in June 2014 and we really enjoyed the lobster we had here! Not overpriced, the experience was amazing, and we recommend this place to everyone! It was recommended to us, and we were glad we listened. They offer different sizes of lobster, a good choice of sides, and it is located right on the dock. They let you choose the size of lobster you want to eat and let you hold it before they throw it into the boiler! (then you feel kinda bad for eating it, but oh well.) They say that the lobster you eat was most likely swimming in the Atlantic that morning! Next time we go to Acadia Ntnl Park or Bar Harbor, we will come back here!!
My husband and I stayed at the motel in June 2014, and we could not have been more pleased with our visit!! It was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and we LOVED it! Even though we did not stay at the Inn, where the decor is more like a B&B, the prices at the motel were less expensive and it was more our style. The motel provided a Keurig in each room with Kcups; They cleaned it everyday even though we didn't really expect it, and they were very kind and courteous! We still ate breakfast at their kitchen, and the food was phenomenal! I will plan to go back here and I've already told all my friends this is a wonderful place to stay in Bar Harbor. 5 stars!!
My husband and I stayed here in June 2014 and we enjoyed the resort a lot. The indoor pool was nice, and there is a good seafood restaurant 5 min walk away from the hotel called Skipper's. The ocean is still cold in June and we did not have a chance to swim or get a lot of sun, but the scenery was still beautiful.
