This was an unexpected little gem along our road-trip. It was a nice little break to get out, stretch our legs and do some exploring. A nice walk through amazing rock formations and beautiful forest on easy to walk decking. If you have the time to take a break I recommend giving it an hour.
My 7 yr old Son is very into trains so we have visited many train attractions, this was one of the best. We got to walk through train cars that we haven’t before. Our tour guide was amazing and we learned some new stuff too! They have an interesting small exhibit and everyone was so nice. A couple hours max does the whole thing. They are working on expanding and we will be sure to visit when we are in the area again.
Climb up 166 steps to a fairly easy slight incline trail & you will find a beautiful reward of Mingo Falls.
We had a great time & went twice! I saw on another review that they don't take photos but they did today while we were there. If you do a re-ride it's a little cheaper than the first ride & we had no wait so I guess we got lucky. We are planning on going back tonight for the lighted night ride.
To start off I'm not big into Christmas but this place blew me away! I was in such aww of the decorations and the feeling you got soon as you walk in the door. The staff was beyond amazing and so pleasant/helpful. Incredible breakfast and gorgeous maintained grounds with a fish pond. I can't wait to go back to this area just to go to this hotel again.
Much more than I expected! We had a great day exploring the rocks, caves, beautiful views, flowers & gnomes. Would recommend sneakers it's a lot more climbing around than I thought it would be. Well maintained trails to follow with lots of ups and downs. The view at the top was unbelievable. Plenty of chairs to sit and enjoy the view while having a drink, snack or lunch. I would without a doubt go back when in the area.
