Beautiful area. We were there about an hour since we cut our hike short due to bugs. The visitors center is nicely done.

We only checked out the fort. Nice area and great people - I can’t imagine living in through the winter when the fort was active. Great history and ice cream.
Small mine area. Self guided into the mine and on the grounds. Enjoyed our time there, about an hour.
Great stop in the UP. The hand powered raft is fun for kids and adults. Very cool to glide over the springs and see the fish.
This is the first of 11 points on the Pierce Stocking Scenic. Very beautiful drive and bridge.
Great trail leading to beautiful views. There is one steep section but it is very doable. Not what i would call a stroller friendly trail.

Yes it is beautiful and fun. However, it is so popular. On hot weekends there can be 100s of people drinking all day with no restroom nearby.
