Hell aboard The Heaven

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Booked 3 nights for husband's birthday, but left half-way through. Tried on several occasions to get specific information from owner, but either unable or unwilling to communicate. Asked for directions (as we were coming from two states away) and got name of restaurant in Annapolis (like we were supposed to know). No parking provided. You may be able to get street parking otherwise you need to go to parking garage in Annapolis, hike several blocks with your bags to get on water taxi. Water taxi $3/per person each which adds up quickly. Yacht is a stripped-down, second hand, charter boat. No A/C (it was 108 degrees real feel inside boat), no TV, no Wifi, no hot water after first day - nothing on board, not so much as a bottle of water and think we would have been in hospital with heat stroke had we not brought our own (which you have to lug down pier, onto water taxi and then onto boat) The 'refrigerator' is only slightly above tepid. You can't turn on freezer because it takes too much electricity. Cheap owners - don't want you to use power other than what comes from 2 solar panels, or water as not enough storied on boat. Toilets (heads) either full or not working - 'fresh' water you have to pump in after you pump out after use just as disgusting as if you didn't flush. Not enough power to even plug in a coffee maker. Three step process to use stove, microwave won't work unless you switch to non-solar panel. Asked for information on activities and prices four months before booking. Annapolis hands out lovely tourist information for FREE and they couldn't even put on on boat. You have to figure everything out yourself. Two days before arriving, got email that owner would find a caption to take us out for $100 and hour. He never did; instead he had his wife call the night before we planned to go out (although we had already decided to leave) who wanted $400 as her husband (the 'captain') was busy and we'd have to pay full prices plus a usage fee (whatever that is). When we told owners we were leaving because health-hazard levels of heat, they thought the 4 mph winds should have cooled things off (guess they believe arctic gales frequently passed through Chesapeake). Boat is moored in middle of bay (because it's cheaper than marina), so your are stuck in a sauna in the middle of the bay because there's no where to go to find shelter from heat. Total rip off. Owners not running a vacation destination but just seeking extra money.
