This was a bit of a random stop for us but so worth the 20+ miles off the route. Very peaceful, beautiful countryside. We had an electric camping site at the very end of one of the peninsulas. Great place to camp between Devils Tower and Yellowstone. A bit pricy for one night and just pit toilets but the beauty definitely helped make up for that. Great place if you like to fish and have your own boat.

Very out in the middle of nowhere. Don't expect to have cell service and if you arrive late make sure you grab your ice and firewood right when you get off the interstate.

This was our first National Park stop on a two week road trip. Absolutely stunning! We took the scenic route from Wall, SD and it was well worth the 22 mile drive. Very windy, leave your hat in the car if you don't want it to blow away.

Note to campers: DO NOT attempt to tent camp. The winds are very strong and if a storm is rolling in not even possible to camp. Make sure to book a cabin or the lodge if you want to spend some serious time hiking on and around the awesome formations.
