Whenever I am taking a scenic drive through the catskills or partaking in a lot of the outdoor activities the mountains have to offer, I pop into this little dive bar. It's usually a quiet place during the day, with a few locals throwing back a beer. Why this place isn't more well-known, is beyond me. The Spinning Room is known for it's burgers: giant, topping-mounded burgers. And like many restaurants around the Hudson Valley, it is used to catering to dietary preferences such as vegetarians. Why, that's me. So imagine a black-bean burger, with mounds of nacho cheese, salsa, jalapenos and cool ranch Doritos (yes, you heard that right), sandwiched between two soft buns. It's not a dream. It's the Spinning Room. They have a variety of other unique burgers but this one is by far my favorite. So, whenever you are passing through, make sure to stop by for a burger and a beer.
Personality! This place is based on the idea that drinking is a social event, but not everyone likes alcoholic drinks. This place offers alcoholic and nonalcoholic mixed drinks. The fuzz house has a unique menu, unique people, and a unique atmosphere. This place is a must.
Very pretty, inexpensive for camping. Extremely buggy. In one night, I managed to get 32 bug bites (and that was with deet on my boots).
