My boyfriend and I just visited this beach a couple of weeks ago. The first part of the trail is nice and relatively flat, and then you hit mud. LOTS of mud. So make sure and wear shoes that you can hose off or pressure wash. There were areas of mud that were darn near a foot deep. But once you get to the beach, the views are stunning. The waves were crashing and we climbed up on to one of the rocks and ate our lunch. Tons of tidepools and exploring to do as well. Was an excellent excuse to get some really good photographs! Definitely a must for any beginner hiker!
