Growing up in the dfw area. I honestly like the Fort Worth zoo better. At the time I went Dallas zoo did not have much animals, landscaping was awesome though.
Make it to this view point atleast. The view is great especially at sunset.
You HAVE to go atleast once in your lifetime. It is breathtaking. Leaves you speechless and just draws you in. Pictures don't give it justice. We camped here on the south rim and it was fun, saw lots of wildlife. We plan to go to the north rim one day and to also hike down to the bottom to phantom ranch or angel creek. Summer is very busy and winter is limited due to weather. plan accordingly. if you decide to do the rim trail there are places to fill your water if you run out.
If you decide to drive through the park. Leave yourself enough time to do so. We got there about 30 mins before the park closed and we were being rushed out. It was pretty cool but only a one time type thing.
My father and stepmother came to visit, we recommended this hotel for them. They had a great experience. Get an Inferno Suite, the rooms are awesome and the patio walks right out to the Bridgewater Channel. Bar on top was slow but it was good for them to be able to walk back to their room after a few drinks.
My husband and I got married here on the balcony with the London Bridge in the background. Beautiful. The food is amazing and the service is great but the event coordinator for our wedding was horrible. Highly recommend the Ahi tuna and the lobster. Ask for a window view to look over the London Bridge and the Bridgewater Channel. - Lake Havasu local
