Don’t bother coming here, as they’ve ripped out the entire dump station & attendant said (rudely) there won’t be another one added & snapped back saying she doesn’t know of anywhere else to go… Well there is! Just down the service road headed east at the next exit is Loves truck stop. Go there! $10 & the attendant has to come out and unlock the padlock for you.

We drove down 2 miles further to the state park so we could buy the beach pass, but the guard said beach camping is closed due to high tides. All spots at the park were full so we’re going down further to Padre.

No camping allowed between markers 99-62, and no overnight camping after 112, which leaves very little stretch of beach. It was raining pretty bad when we came here, weren’t impressed enough to stay, so we are trying Port A beach next.

This is the only dump station we could find anywhere within 20 miles, so can’t be too picky. It’s kind of a clusterf*ck getting in/out, as it’s slammed right by the big trucks exit. You have to go inside to pay $10 & the attendant will come out and unlock the padlock. Water spigot SPRAYS water everywhere from the hose, so watch out.
Not sure why this is called a “beach”, as it’s in a bay, with zero waves. We’re used to beach Boondocking in our 30’ TT with our 3 dogs & (yes- we are “those people” who enjoy electricity & our generator). So normally we fill up our propane tanks, water tank +extra 60 gal water bladder, & our 15 gal gas tank so we can park far away from others, to not disturb y’all. Drove in from DFW, arrived @2:30am w a sick dog & had to run the generator. Felt like a total jerk, but now we know never to come back here. If it’s this crowded in DECEMBER, omg I can’t imagine summers! We’re headed further south to padre, as it’s sooo much better & spacious! I will say though.. Magnolia Beach is pretty clean. Haven’t seen any trash & a few cans along the road, which is nice. Also like that you don’t have to worry about tides & leveling issues. Beach is very level here for your rv!
**WATER FILL UP TIP: we filled up our tanks at the Conoco station in Victoria 5903 Houston Hwy. at their air/water pump. **Accepts quarters only- no cards!!
We really loved this place. Nice spacious spots. We stayed in spot #1 on the very end and it was perfect! The lake was incredibly low when we were there Sept. 2022. We will def stay here again if in the area!

Camped in our 30’ TT here so hubs can fish & I can crab. SO LOUD being right off the highway, but conveniently accessible. There’s 2 HUGE piers & boat ramp, lots of spots for RV’s w FULL hookups, even our own cable & DUMP hookups + covered cabana & table.
The guy in golf cart came whizzing up to us about 10 mins after we parked. Bobby was his name, super friendly.
There wasn’t anyone in the front to tell us how much per night, so he said we have to go to the website & pay $60/night. Seems quite high, but cheaper than a hotel I suppose.
Very small beach area with hatch umbrellas & playground for kids- NO DOGS ALLOWED ON BEACH!!! Also NO FIRES OR GRILLS ALLOWED anywhere in this park!! That screwed up most of our eating plans! Oh well. At least it’s close enough to the handful of restaurants- if your lucky enough to be here when they’re open. A lot are only open on certain days & weird times. If you’re wanting good seafood places- you’re outta luck in this town! Only 2 places here.

Very clean place. Level sites. We got in late at night and left in the morning so didn’t get to see much of what’s here, but had a pleasant sleep!

I asked the cashiers about the dump station and they both told me this location does NOT have one!
We arrived with our 3 dogs in 30’ trailer & F250 on a Sunday, 3pm. Hosts were at the entrance to greet us & show us where to camp. We followed him in his golf cart to double site #8, **kinda high at $50** which was nice to have room to extend our dog fence for them to have their own space & relieves our worries of them escaping or worse. King Charles spaniels that have zero experience in the wild like this! (This is a 1st for us w camping in an RV, so we’ve been learning as we go since we left Dallas 4 days ago).
Bummed to learn they had no water hookups & all electric sites were taken. If you plan your visit early, make sure you can reserve their lakeside spots, as OMG y’all- pretty amazing!! Our site wasn’t superb, as the only view was another camper & trees. Could barely even see the top of a mountain, which is what we’ve traveled to CO for! Only stayed one night, so using it as a learning experience for the next stops!
