You have to stop by the hotel lobby to "register" for your stay. I arrived shortly after midnight and the casino was still pretty busy from what it looked like from the parking lot. There really isn't anything fancy about the RV park but there really aren't any other place to stay off of 35 around this area either. We only needed to use the electric site, but having full hook-ups for 25 is a good deal almost anywhere. I think there is an airport near by because I heard a lot of planes fly over and sice it is so close to the interstate/Pilot gas station there is a lot of noise. The sites are very large and can accommodate pretty large RVs. I never saw any site numbers making the spots though. I might not have been paying that much attention because we were only there a total.of about 8 hours. You can't really see the lake from the RV park. Your view is either of the gas station to the left or the casino and run off pond to your right. I wanted to stay at either clear lake state park or nine eagles, but one was too far and the other too close when we were deciding where to stop.

We love camping in the winter, actually just winter in general, but it is always difficult to find open campgrounds in most northern/mountain areas during that time especially one with electric sites. We have a 30ft(ish) toy hauler that’s amazing but can be difficult to get into some places however, we had no issue here. The bathroom was very warm with hot water which was another plus I was not expecting on this trip. We used the hot springs for showering/just relaxing which are less then 10 mins down the road. The sites are mostly level from what I saw and any trafficked area was free from snow which is more than I can say about the main roads. We went snowboarding in Telluride, spent a day in Durango, went down the million dollar highway (I am glad We didn’t try that with the RV the night we came in) and was happy to have this place to come back to in the evenings. Also, this campground is the quietest campground I have ever been to that is also by a major road. Maybe we will try in again in the summer time. The only bad, more so annoying, thing I can think of is that you can just pay for a multi-day park pass so everyday we had to stop to get another park pass.

About cell phone service, I have AT&T and the husband has Verizon, neither of us had any issue with service or 4G internet. We ever watched you tube videos without any buffering issues, which is better than I can say for my house in MN.
