Came here in late summer of 2022 on my way to my next air force base, super cool to see. I've always been fascinated with medieval things, but it had never even occurred to me that there might be a castle in the states. This castle is in the heart of Missouri on the top of a cliff side. It was a super nice, cloudless, sunny day and on the walk up the boardwalk to the castle, you can peer over the edge. There's a long winding river that has dug itself into the valley below. I would recommend going to this location. From my experience, MO state parks are the nicest.

You can tell that ever since the Hillman bridge was put on Roadtrippers, or made public in general that it has spiked in popularity. In the pictures presented on the website there is no graffiti on the bridge and now as of 2022 it is absolutely litter with it. The graffiti kind of adds to the charm of the bridge itself though. The Iron on the bridge has rusted to an almost sunset orange. There is a lot of class to the bridge but I did see a completely intact meal in a Styrofoam container which leads me to believe that there are probably homeless people that stay on the bridge now, So just be wary of that.

There is nothing here. I talked to the park ranger that stands by the gate at the Suwanee River State park, she said this used to be an old foresting town. But all they have are a few trash cans and stone benches along a trail. What was here long ago has absolutely no trace left. I’d recommend skipping.
