This is a well traveled road used by locals as well as those looking for a good boon docking site. There is a lot of road dust, but unless you are in one of the pull-through sites on the side of the road, most of it will dissipate by the time it gets to your campsite. There are a few service roads directly off of Tom's Best Spring. We spoke to someone who was pulling out of Road 611 (see google maps) and asked how the camping was. He was pulling a 22 to 24 ft travel trailer with an F150 and he said it was no trouble. We did not have time, but I would advise those who want to avoid how busy Tom's Best Spring Road can get, to scout out the service roads. Most seem to connect back to the main road. Overall, we would stay here again, but would scout out the service roads as well.

Didn’t find a lower rate. Just needed electrical hookups because the heat. Place is nice and well kept. Quite a few long term residents, handful of short time visitors.

Called the other day to make a same day reservation. Agent took my credit card info and charged $40 then said "We will be here until 5". So I mentioned that we were driving up from Tucson, AZ and not positive we could make it by 5, so I asked for a late arrival envelope. "Nope" said the agent, "we don't allow for late arrivals". So if you don't make it by 5pm, you are out of luck and your $40.

The biggest issues I have with this are 1. They took my money before explaining that you have to be there before 5 otherwise you don't get in. 2. There is nothing on their website (as of today) that explains the late arrival either.

Fortunately the agent was able to cancel the credit card transaction, but I consider myself lucky.

We just used the dump station here for fresh water and to dump the tanks. Easy access and it is pretty clean with great water pressure. We drove through the campground and it is more crowded than Watchman campground in Zion, but still a good campground. Variety of sites for various sizes of RVs/trailers. We were there a few days after reservations ended in mid-October and there were several sites open. If we were planning to stay in the area longer we would have taken one.

Very nice campground with decent spacing between campsites. We have the senior national park pass so the rate we paid was half of the normal rate which is $30/night. No water, but electrical hookup. You can get water at several spigots nearby but you either have to drive/tow your rig to one or carry water in a container back and forth and we saw several people doing that. We can carry 30 gallons of fresh water, so it was not an issue for us. If you can get a spot here, we highly recommend it.

Stopped here on the way south from Oregon. By the way google maps sent us to the wrong location but Apple Maps sent us to the correct address. Never had that happen before.

You park over by the coffee shack which is located on the far left side of the parking lot as you pull in. There are a couple of 120AC outlets that will power your fridge and heater and lights, but no 30 or 50 amp (as I said it’s free, so nice of them to do that much). We felt very safe here.

You don’t have to sign in, but I spoke with a security guard who was walking the parking lot to make sure we were in the right area before we leveled. As others mentioned the lot is sloped a bit, so you will likely need to level your rig.

Smallish casino, lots of smoke and people gambling. Small bar and restaurant. Has the cheeseburger as takeout, but it was soggy. We would stay again but probably avoid the casino (smoke) and restaurant.

This is a very nice Forest Service campground (hard-sided camping only, no tents). There is water available (via a hand pump), but no hookups or dump station (nearest dump station is either in Cody or in the main campground in the Park). Bathrooms (vault toilets) are clean and sites are kept clean and are fairly level. The camp hosts for this season were awesome. They regularly drove through the camp tracking new arrivals, and were always available to answer questions about the area.

We were there 15 to 22 July during one this this summers heat waves (103-degrees one day). Most of the sites get a lot of direct sun, especially sites 1-4. The east loop (higher campsite numbers) has more shade than the west loop (lower campsite numbers). We actually had to run our generator to get the AC going in our travel trailer as the heat was just about unbearable for a few days. Some of the sites can be reserved in advance and there are a lot of first-come, first-served sites. There was at least one open campsite most days we were there. There are also a lot of similar campgrounds between this one and Cody, so if its full you don't have to drive much further east to find another campground to try.

Location - This is about 3 miles outside the East Yellowstone entrance. The East entrance is less popular than the West, and there are almost no services on the East side, but there is one restaurant about 1/2 mile from the campground which does a good job with burgers and sandwiches and the staff is nice, but don't expect gourmet fare. There is a very small grocery store next to the restaurant, but there is no gasoline available. You have to drive into the park to Pelican Bridge to get gas.

So bottom line, the West entrance is the preferable entrance if you can reserve a spot somewhere over that way. While the park is huge and you have to drive a long way to see things, the west side is better for most of this. The East side is fine, but expect to do a lot of driving (25 miles from Pelican Bridge to the entrance/exit). We have T-Mobile and there is NO cell coverage until you get to Cody, and there is spotty coverage near the Lodge (you might get a text out).

We stayed here one night. It is a big empty gravel lot located between I-5 and two motels (currently a Best Western and Quality Inn). I asked someone at the Best Western about the lot and they told me truckers seem to use it a lot for overnight. We parked to the left side as you enter the lot, but others parked to the right as well. Had an easy time leveling the trailer as the lot is fairly level. Two other RV's showed up later as well as several Semi-trucks. Bit of road noise from I-5, but not too bad and didn't bother us. Some decent restaurants across the street as well as several fast food choices.

Considering it is just off of I-5 with very easy access and all of the services available within a short walk make this a great location for a free one-night stop over. We would stay again.

I made the mistake of not doing my homework when reserving this campground. It is nice, but I thought we would be close to Teton National Park - it is not. You do get a spectacular West to East view of the Tetons, but the National Park and Jackson, WY are on the other side which is a 50 min to 1 hour drive.

After several miles on a very dusty and somewhat rutted dirt road (the dust gets everywhere), we arrived at the campground which is very nice and there are a mix of sun, partial sun, and shade spaces. We were in space one, which is shown in one of the pictures another camper posted. It was an okay space, but almost any other space in the park is better. Most spaces have a nice fire pit, grill, and an framed/level space for a tent or screen room (in addition to the space for your RV/vehicle) . I didn't measure the space, but a 10X10 would fit, possibly a 12x12. As I recall, spaces 1 and 8 are in full sun, 2 is an excellent pull through in shade, and 3-7 are in shade as well.

No services, but water is available in several spots around the campground. Either fill up before you park your rig or be prepared to port water from a container. No electric or dump station. Nearest dump station is in the Sinclair station in town of Victor about 30 minutes away from the camp on the way to Jackson. Dump station there is free with a fill up of gas.

This is a very popular hiking spot, and there is a decent size parking lot for day use adjacent to the camp. The camp hosts here were average. They didn't do regular patrols of the camp, never stopped by to verify our reservation or say hello, and were often hard to find. Many dog owners had their dogs off leash and I had to use my bear spray on one who came after me and my dog. For what it's worth, I'm finding this to be the case fairly often in campgrounds (mostly semi-boon docking campgrounds without hookups), so I always carry some type of animal spray when walking my dog (on a leash!). Bathrooms were marginally clean.

There is a very nice grocery store in Alta about 20 minutes away, and the drive to Jackson from here is beautiful, just long. There is a pass you have to drive over, but it is one of the easiest I've ever driven at that altitude. Just expect a lot of traffic going in/out of Jackson which will add to your drive.

Regarding my ratings, Access would be five stars if not for all the dust on the dirt road and it could stand to be graded a bit. Location would be five stars if I really wanted to camp and hike the east side of the Tetons, but for our purposes it was not convenient to Jackson or Teton NP. The sites themselves were very clean even through I rarely saw the camp hosts about, and the bathrooms had a ton of flies but were fairly clean and stocked with TP. The camp was very quiet. There was generally availability for first come / first served and several boon docking sites along the dirt road before the camp that you can use.

Great place to overnight. Camping is free if you do not want to hookup to electricity. Otherwise if you want electric hookup it is $7. RV spaces are all along the fence at the east side of the property and you can't miss them.

You park in an open spot first (first come first served, no reservations) and note down the space number.
Take that inside with you and register. They will give you a "club card" which is free and required for you to stay in the RV spots. You can use the card to gamble if you want, but this casino allows smoking so I didn't want to be in there any longer than necessary.

They have on-site security and there were several other campers. We felt very safe, and the other campers who were there were quiet and we did not hear any ruckus from any of the casino patrons leaving to go home for the night.
