We didn’t have a lot of time, and the park was not at its best (construction blocked easy access to the falls), but it’s a nice park—although not as impressive as some state parks in Pennsylvania much less national parks.
In September 2022 the falls weren’t that impressive—apparently, they were a fraction of their peak. The $5 charge wasn’t unreasonable, but it also wasn’t worth $5. The overlook was still a good view, but you could see all there was to see in 2 minutes. Also, there were flies everywhere and the whole thing felt rundown.
Booked a room in July as part of a big September road trip with my wife and 3 year-old. While traveling across the country to Disneyland (in Wyoming), I received an email from the Candy Cane Inn. It said that our reservation was canceled because Orange County inspectors were not allowing the hotel to open. They included a list of hotels adding: we don’t recommend these hotels—it’s just a list.
I scrambled to make reservations as I drove across the country. I couldn’t find anything within a mile of Disneyland. I enlisted YouTubers who covers Disney hotels to help me. We determined that there was nothing left for under a thousand dollars a night. I was lucky to get a hotel at the airport.
Don’t trust these people.
