I do believe that this is a real place, however I have to wonder, if the photograph was altered to bring out certain pigments, lights and contrast to make it so dramatic. I love the photo I've had it as my fb cover for over a month now. I pulled it from an anonymous page. I could only imagine what the original looked like.
