Durango Joe's is a local chain, it serves really good coffee drinks. This location has a great patio seating area. Great service, great coffee, great view!
Good for a selfie and to stretch the legs. It's a sad story but interesting. And they now have the headstone locked down so it can't be stolen again...
Absolutely fascinating 900 year old ruins. Be sure to visit both the Chetro Ketl and Pueblo Bonito ruins (easy loop trail to see them both and some petroglyphs along the cliff between the ruins. Be sure to pick up the $2 pamphlets at the visitor center which describes each.
Great staff, Clean rooms, Free breakfast, nice workout room, comfortable bed, everything needed in a hotel.
Not easy to get to - many miles of unpaved road - definitely accessible by car, but it is bumpy. The ruins are absolutely worth the trip though. Both fascinating and educational. I'd suggest getting the pamphlets from the visitor center ($2 each) as there are many marked areas that the pamphlets provide additional information. Also, highly recommend following the numbers (follow the arrow and take a right as you walk up to the ruin). Also be sure to go into the actual ruin - the first doorway is the smallest, so if you can fit through, you are good for the rest of the rooms.
Definitely worth the $'s when you are in Albuquerque. We hiked along the ridge at the top and visited the Kiwanis cabin (about a mile from the tram). Beautiful views. I suspect dinner at the Ten3 restaurant would be an amazing sunset!
Stretch the legs and snap a selfie, but that's about it.
This is my new favorite hotel when in the Austin area. Very clean and bright, great staff, large workout room.
While not a "working" cattle drive, it's still fascinating to watch very large cattle walking down the street just a few feet away from the crowd. Also, the shops and restaurants were definitely worth walking through.
It's a ways off the interstate, but we found it worth it. Quite interesting. While you can't tour down in the salt mines, this was both informative and surprisingly interesting. Seeing very large salt rocks, different kinds of salt, and how it's mined turned out to be worth the stop.
