See the pics I uploaded. Paved, full hook-ups, steady 124V-30A (50A too) service, and something the ladies always look for....fully private showers/bathrooms! Located away from any noise or road traffic, yet just 20 minutes from the Fort Worth Stockyards. We loved Silver Creek, and have already booked 2 more reservations for our next trips that we‘ll be stopping by at Fort Worth.

We spent 3 days here, in site #33. 50A, water, and sewer hookups. Level site, view of the lake, great roads, and the lodge, opened in 1956, has been beautifully preserved! Sequoyah State Park is one of Oklahoma's best! Book a month in advance as this is a popular destination.

First Note: Campendium needs to update the location, which is in error. Location is LAT 36.130119, LONG -96.321620 on Keystone Lake near Mannford, OK, NOT Skiatook Lake as the „Map It“ function currently shows.

Review: I like this campground. Very family oriented. This campground has the appearance of having been a State Park that got sold to a private owner. I don‘t know any other way to describe it. The location is fantastic and the campsites are well dispersed, just like in a State or National park. Also, instead of full hook-ups, you have electric and or water. There is a dump station near the entrance. For those who are tent camping, you won’t be disappointed either. You can literally camp right on the shoreline. In addition to all of this, the pool/water park is new, excellently maintained and a 1/4 mile from any campers. You won’t be disturbed in your campsite from any noise at the water park. The only noise issue is an active rail line that is close enough to be heard at night. Lastly, construction is still underway in a completely separate cove, where I believe the intention is to build cabins. Those will be nice when open to the public. As I said, I really like this campground, and I believe you will too. Check out the pictures I‘ve uploaded, and I hope this review was helpful.

Built in 1988, this 30-year young park is meticulously maintained. I mean immaculate! Wow! I honestly believe the owners raked the pebbles level and smooth before we arrived. The attention to detail is what makes this park a cherished destination. Bathhouse: spotless. Site picnic table: freshly refinished, washed clean. Grounds: lovingly landscaped. Located just minutes from Main Street Fredericksburg, Oakwood couldn‘t be more convenient. I‘d give 6-stars if that were an option. ❤️

This is such a relaxing RV and cabin park. The people who work here all live here, one being my neighbor for the 5-days of my stay. Personable, smiling, and kind; it‘s the little things that make all the difference in the world. Maintenance is kept to a high standard, be it the grounds, bath houses, pool, or laundries. Most sites are pull-through and all are level, spacious and manicured. There is no road noise, but rather an abundance of tranquility. Tejas Valley is the kind of privately-owned campground one is always looking for. Will I be back? You can count on it!

This is a multiple award winning campground, and well-deserved. Spaces are not too tight, hookups are convenient and well-maintained, and the view from #32 at sunset.....romantic. In the Morning, when the sun is rising behind you, this same view of the valley takes on a splendid awakening of living green. We will definitely be back again!

Lake Mineral Wells State Park is a typical CCC-era park, is well-maintained, and the Rangers are all wonderful folks. My suspicion is that this park is a magnet for mosquitoes in warmer weather, as the edge of the lake is marshland. I stayed here in winter, so my visit was quiet, relaxing, and the night sky - the park being well-removed from any city lights - was spectacular. If I ever stay over in Summer, I’ll update this review regarding my suspicions...

I rate this KOA as „Adequate“, 3-stars. South Padre Island is a fantastic destination, so you would think the KOA, which essentially stays nearly full all year round, would be a premier KOA. Paved trailer sites? Nope, gravel. Landscaped? Nope, a few palm trees amongst tightly packed sites. New construction? None. Bath houses immaculate and maintained to the highest order? Nope; old, rusty, but basically clean. Fine for a man, but my wife said, „I won’t be taking any showers here....“. New or refinished/painted picnic tables? Nope; more like deteriorating in the Texas sun. On the good side, people (as is the case throughout South Texas, are nice, trash gets picked like clockwork, the KOA is quiet even before 10:00 p.m., and the location is very good (right on the island). My general assessment: Someone is making a ton of money without caring very much about reinvestment. I wish another investor would buy it who cares enough to maintain it equal to the splendor of the rest of South Padre Island. Will I stay here again? Probably, simply due to its proximity.....which is the likely reason the mediocre upkeep is gotten away with.

If ever you are stopping in Pawhuska, OK - say to visit Dee Drummond’s Pioneer Woman Merchantile - then Settle Inn is ideal. This campground is just a 5 minutes drive from Pawhuska, yet is situated in the middle of a working cattle ranch. Nestled amongst the hardwood trees, Settle Inn offers quiet nights free from street lights, busy highways, or noisy neighbors. My wife and I slept like the dead, and in the morning woke to the sound of stirring cattle, migrating geese, and calling birds of every ilk. Your host is a charming young lady who clearly puts her heart into this campground. This is what campgrounds were before corporations took over the landscape. Family owned, diligently maintained, and offering memorable, special experiences to their guests. My site, number 5, was a pull through gravel, yet level, drive. All hook-ups are within 5-feet of your rig; no extended lines nor hoses required. In the center of the campground is a pavilion where last night a crackling fire provided a congregating welcome to the guest. After 10-days of Arctic weather and heavy snows, we needed a relaxing weekend, and we got it. Why four stars? Though we didn’t need them, all showers were closed and only one unisex bathroom was in operation, likely as a result of the winter weather. Still, to get a 5-star rating, all facilities should be open and in operation. Stay here again? You bet! Recommended? Absolutely!

How I wish Cameron County or the KOA on South Padre Island would make the investment to really make one of these parks top notch. Andy Bowie is the best, needing only to have A) the sewer lines BELOW the road level so they will drain properly (see my photo), and B) a new bath house. Do that, and this park goes from 3-stars to 5-stars. Location is beautiful, right behind the dunes on the beach. 20 RV Spots, with individual water, 30/50 amp electric, and the sewer problem mentioned above on nearly every site.
