Yes, it is beautiful. Yes, you should see it. However, it is a long haul from Eugene or any of the major stops off the 5, so you'll want to plan accordingly and expect this attraction to take the whole day to get to and back.
Quality hotel is where we tend to stay on all roadtrips due to the good hot breakfast, nice rooms, and consistent experience. This location was no different. Walking distance to restaurants, convenience store and close to highway.
The shipwreck is very cool and you should wander down the coast to see it all. Beautiful beach, though tends to be windier than those a tad farther south, so dress accordingly.
Great little motel just on the edge of Astoria. Staff was very friendly and the motel itself was clean and well-maintained. The room walls are very thin, so you may want to opt for upper floor (and maybe bring a fan for some white noise). Views are stunning and otherwise, the place is great. We'll stay again.
