Just a dude who likes road tripping with his small human spawn.

Yes, it is beautiful. Yes, you should see it. However, it is a long haul from Eugene or any of the major stops off the 5, so you'll want to plan accordingly and expect this attraction to take the whole day to get to and back.

Quality hotel is where we tend to stay on all roadtrips due to the good hot breakfast, nice rooms, and consistent experience. This location was no different. Walking distance to restaurants, convenience store and close to highway.

Park is large and welcoming. The carousel is exactly what you expect. Staff is very friendly and they'll allow your dog to enter the carousel area and store. If going from the OR coast to more inland attractions, this is worth the stop to make your small child smile.

For the price, it is cool. Certainly better than 12 rusted out hulks and there is much history here. My 6yr old was exactly thrilled, but even she thought the old planes were cool up close. It's a convenient little side stop that if inclined, you should indulge

The shipwreck is very cool and you should wander down the coast to see it all. Beautiful beach, though tends to be windier than those a tad farther south, so dress accordingly.

Great little motel just on the edge of Astoria. Staff was very friendly and the motel itself was clean and well-maintained. The room walls are very thin, so you may want to opt for upper floor (and maybe bring a fan for some white noise). Views are stunning and otherwise, the place is great. We'll stay again.
