Inexpensive family-run motel. It appears to have the original furnishings but is well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable. The owners were friendly and pointed out some local things to see and do while passing through the area.
A decades-old high school art project in a high school parking lot. Seeking it out was probably more fun than seeing what we found. Regardless, I'm glad we went out of the way to find it.
A photo opp with a giant red arrow in a parking lot.
Pizza! Pizza! Hot and ready. Three meat is the best. Only get the deep dish if it is just out of the oven.
This is no longer PIggly's at the Fair. Piggly's at the Fair served carnival food. In my opinion, the carnival food that is both tasty and fun to eat while stomping around the mud after a day in the sun at the fair didn't transport well to a sit-down restaurant. The good seemed overly greasy with too little taste.
However, this restaurant is now Piggly's Barbecue. The Barbecue provided a much more pleasant dining experience than the fried fair food that used to be served at this location.
Front desk clerk stank. Room was dated but appeared to be clean enough. It provided a cheap place to sleep. I slept and left.
This was my favorite hotel while living in hotels when I first moved to the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the price was nice.
Fort Huachuca is about 30 miles south of the location on this page.
A Dillards that looks like a thrift store. Great deals when they have sales on top of the clearance prices. Finding the size and style you want may take longer than elsewhere. So, if you have time to dig through overstuffed racks, you can find some great deals here.
Worst motel of our 58 day road trip. Toilet didn't work in the first room they gave us. Bed was so uncomfortable and sleep was so poor, that we left before sunrise.
