Closed as of April 2022 due to fire damage. Some giant sequoias can be seen from the road but parking and hiking not allowed.
Great place to camp for a night or two. Right on the beach. Very windy and mostly occupied by RVs but tents are allowed. Chemical toilets only; water is available but looks cloudy so I only used it for rinsing. There is a fantastic hike accessible from the La Jolla canyon trailhead. Ray Miller Backbone. Absolutely stunning panorama views!
Very beautiful visitor center with small open aquarium that is similar to a kelp forest. There is a free movie to get info about the park. Outdoor garden with native plants and history of how Chumash people used them. Adjacent to Ventura harbor and a lovely beach. Trips to the Channel islands can be booked with Island Packers.
Great! First come first served on a hillside overlooking Ojai and the Ojai valley. Bring your own water. I was able to score a last minute site on a Saturday in late January.
