This place is awesome.... Didn't have to go far to get some really decent photos.
I had to go check this place out for myself... I drove from the flying J truck stop just outside of Barstow to go here, and it was definitely worth the drive. If you get really good mileage on your vehicle I recommend filling up long before you get there because the gas prices in Shoshone are outrageous and in Baker it's not much cheaper. If you have a decent camera you won't be disappointed whatsoever, it didn't take me long to get quite a few good shots.
Can't get to the area... The washboard road is too rough for anything other than four-wheel-drive vehicles... A jeep would be highly recommended, if you're going to venture out here.
Crawfish boudin balls and a crawfish pie for lunch. Shrimp ettoufee with fried okra and potato salad for dinner. Looks like I have a new favorite restaurant in Louisiana. Prices are decent, and the food is really good. Highly recommended.
This is a really cool place. $8 to go to the top, but well worth it. They also have a lot of unique items in the gift shop. There is also a UFO repair shop along the road to the tower, I will have to wait until I can get out there again to check that out.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. It's in a really bad part of town close to where there used to be a TA travel center, which was shut down and demolished several years ago due to the fact too many drivers were getting shot.
Nice little motel from yesteryear.
Wanted to get a selfie with the aliens, but they were too busy trying to figure out what planet they were on.
Stopped here in 2008...was $15 at the time....got some great photos while there.....for those that bitch about the admission price, get real....it's definitely worth it......as for the gift shop, don't be a cheap snob....they have stuff for sale there you can't get anywhere else....nobody is twisting your arm to buy anything....and yes....they filmed part of the movie Starman here.
You have to stop here to see the murals.....definitely worth the stop.....I have some great photos, but no way to post them on here.
