What an amazing little place. The Trading post has some of the most unique items I saw on our trip through Native American Reserves. The buildings are old and in incredible shape. They celebrate their 100th Anniversary this year. Worth the stop and time to poke. We didn't eat there but was told the food is traditional and pretty decent.
Amazing. The contrast of green against the red rocks is fabulous. I loved that people still live in the canyon floor. We did the south rim drive and were very impressed. Saw this before the Grand Canyon and set the bar rather high for history and beauty.
Wichita Falls has it's share of quirky things. This is just one. The story is interesting. The building - blah.
The tower is spectacular!!! You can climb to the top of the tower or simply check out the main level. All the amenities are there too.
Saw it at night. Very impressive.
Cool spot. Didn't walk out to the cars. The mud was too bad and I didn't have the proper footwear. We were still able to see it, just not up close.
We stopped here because the name was fun. We got so much more. The size of the mansion is spectacular. The amount of the structure still standing is impressive. The scenery....WOW! As we walked down the trail we saw a bird of prey hunting in the valley below. We were above the bird looking down on it. Well worth the detour.
