Shawnee Chief Tecumseh's brother, The Prophet, sat on this rock and prayed prayers of encouragement for his people during the Battle at Tippecanoe. The native tribes were living united at Prophetstown (a type of eutopia), as Tecumseh had convinced them that they should fight together against the whites. William Harrison waited until Tecumseh left to attack the natives, resulting in a lopsided victory.
The management is super friendly and accommodating. They are renovating everything from the tubs to the lobby... New sinks, ceiling tiles, fresh paint, mini-fridge, microwaves, and more. It's much better than I expected for an efficiency motel!
Great place for all nature lovers!
Staff is awesome, rooms are very accomodating and comfy. Breakfast is free hot buffet daily. Fitness center and pool always open. Stayed for a week and couldn't be more pleased.
Really wanted to get there to do some birding, but this is virtually impossible to get to. The roads are gated closed and dirt, not something that can be an easy jaunt. Hard to find, GPS is lost, hard to find. Totally bummed. :-(
We were able to book on the road online, 15 min ahead of time, and have the room ready. Comfy clean room, very affordable, pet-friendly, great staff, free wifi, washer&dryer available, good continental breakfast.
Beautiful. Pictures don't do this place justice! A short drive into the Shawnee State Forest on a gravel road, but definitely worth the trip off the well-traveled path. My whole family loved it.
Cute little town with a whole bunch of Largest's. Free and touristy.
