We love The Dugout! Inexpensive soft serve and fresh fast food. Perfect for after a softball, baseball or soccer game. Open later during the summer. Sweet staff.

This a great little free museum at Eureka College, the college home of President Reagan. The museum is one large room of memorabilia, video, etc. contributed by friends and colleagues of Reagan as well as Reagan himself. It won't take too long to go through and even my middle schoolers found it interesting. Especially poignant to see is Reagan's warm, life-long affection for the College as highlighted in the exhibit. The Ronald Reagan Peace Garden outside the Cerf Center features a bronze bust of Reagan and a piece of the Berlin Wall. It is a nice place to sit as the children run around stretching their legs. An Amphitheater is just west of the museum's building and a labyrinth and gazebo under large oaks offers ice destination.

The town of Eureka itself is charming with lovely homes and an excellent fair-trade coffee shop downtown. If you come in on Route 117, you'll drive pastBusy Corner restaurant where you can have an amazing slice of homemade pie.
