“Built in 1907, and serving as a museum since 1968”
Last of the coal burning overnight passenger steamships that sailed the Great Lakes. Built in 1907 in Glasgow, Scotland, and served the Great Lakes for 57 years. A time in history preserved with mahogany paneling, glass fixtures, stained glass windows and hand carved panels along with beveled mirrors, museum display and gift shop. Thousands of visitors tour the S.S. Keewatin every summer. They transport themselves back in time to the bygone era of elegant passenger steamship travel. They see passenger staterooms, Captain's suite, crew quarters, dining and lounge areas, food preparation areas and visit the Wheelhouse. We invite you to share with us a journey into maritime nostalgia. Open from Memorial weekend to Labor Day.
