“Spectacular 360 degree panoramic views of Brisbane City”
The Wheel of Brisbane has become an absolute must-do for Brisbane visitors of all ages since it was constructed in 2008, as part of the 20th anniversary of Brisbane’s World Expo 88.
The awe-inspiring design is 60 metres high and features 42 fully enclosed and air-conditioned gondolas. A Wheel experience lasts almost 15 minutes with four revolutions, including a magical stop right at the pinnacle.
Each gondola features an audio system that provides an insight into the city’s historical landmarks including the Botanical Gardens, Mount Coot-tha, the Goodwill Bridge and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
The comfortable gondolas are large enough to accommodate up to six adults and two children with VIP gondolas that seat four adults -perfect for special occasions.
The Wheel of Brisbane is part of a worldwide alumni under the design direction of Ronald Bussink; the architect of similar wheels across the world from Niagara Falls, to Paris, Kuala Lumpur, Belfast and Manchester.
Special events are taken to new heights with the Wheel delivering the perfect location to celebrate Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, birthdays and anniversaries. The Wheel offers the best seats in the house for New Year’s Eve and Brisbane’s Riverfire Festival.
Visitors can ride for the sights by day, the lights by night, or book a sky-high dining or wine tasting package that includes on board dining platters in a VIP private gondola.
There is a Sirromet Lounge located at the base of the Wheel that is the perfect place for a function or event.
Open 10am to 10pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday, there are no reservations required to soak up the views, and explore Brisbane’s distinctive metropolis from one of the very best vantage points in the city.
