“Hands Working Together.”
Marra Dreaming is an Aboriginal Community organisation located in Salisbury, South Australia, and approximately 20 kilometres north of the Adelaide General Post Office. Marra Dreaming produces a wide range of contemporary Indigenous Australian art including: jewellery, hand-painted ceramic items both beautiful and useful, decorated eggs, traditional woven baskets and mats, silk scarves in a glorious rainbow of colours and children's resources, including jigsaw puzzles, which are works of art in themselves being reproductions of original dot paintings. Artists work in residence at Marra Dreaming, and visitors may observe them creating. Our on-site retail outlet allows us to showcase the work of both established and emerging artists including limited numbers of boomerangs, didgeridoos and paintings on canvas. Marra Murrangga Kumangka means, "hands work together" in the Kaurna language (pronounced Gar-nu) and this is the ethos of our organisation. Come and visit soon.
