The staff was very friendly and a pleasure to interact with. They went above and beyond by taking me around in a side by side to view available sites and choose. After choosing the best spot for us they even brought in stone and made a site to accommodate our camper. The grounds are very well kept and the two fishing ponds are beautiful. Had we not been heading to the Eldora Speedway for the Kings Royal we would have stayed a week. Overall great experience! We would recommend this campground to anyone. We will return!

We love this campground! When we are looking for a place to stay for an extended period there are several things we take into consideration. Location. Atmosphere. Amenities. But probably the most important is the camp management. And this is where NRC really shines. The daughter/father team that recently purchased the campground have made it an absolute pleasure to stay here. They work tirelessly to improve the campground and are committed to providing a safe, fun, family friendly camping experience.
The campground is conveniently located just east of Zanesville, Ohio - just minutes off of I70. It is just off the “National Road”, minutes from Zanesville, “Pottery Capital of the World,” and the Wilds animal adventure park. Columbus, home of The Ohio State Buckeyes is just an hour away.
The campground features rolling hills, two stocked ponds and plenty of shade trees in a true park-like setting. Sites accommodate all types of camping from motor coach to tent. There are also several cabins of various sizes available. Amenities include: camp store, coin laundry, play grounds, corn hole, volleyball court, fishing ponds, sun deck, dump stations and recreation room. The owners also have special events on a regular basis, such as live bands, DJs, and stand up comedians.
The park gets full on weekends, but is pretty quiet during the week. Overall it has a very quiet, safe, comfortable, family friendly vibe. Sites are available by day, week or month and seasonal sites are also available (the park does close for the winter season.)
There is no cable or park wide WiFi, but free WiFi is available at the camp office/store. We had decent Verizon and Sprint mobile coverage. Local NBC is available if you have an HD antenna.
We stayed for 2 months and were very sad when it was time for us to move on. We would definitely stay again if in the area, and highly recommend you check it out!

I selected this campground because of this app and the previous reviews. I needed a place to stay while on a road trip with my kids. We paid $20 for a tent site and found it to be a nice experience overall. After hours registration was convenient and clearly marked. The bathroom facility is clean and social distancing reminders are posted clearly for campers. This property is conveniently located off of I-70 and the noise of the traffic is consistent and most-definitely audible. It did not affect my sleeping and was fine for one night. The other campers were very quiet.

National Road Campground exceeded my expectations. The property is located about 5 minutes off I-70, making it very convenient for travelers. There are a couple of gas stations on the corners adjacent to the highway.
The campsites are gravel, fairly level and are organized in a loose circle around two central ponds. The campground is family-owned; Scott assisted with my initial reservation and Erin, his daughter, checked me in upon arrival. Both were friendly and welcoming.
The campsites have water and electric. A dump station is located near the main office. Other amenities include WiFi, a laundry room, bathrooms with showers (very clean!), ice for sale, and a basketball court. The grounds are well kept and beautifully landscaped with flowers. As this family has only owned the campground for a few years, improvements are constantly underway. There are several playground areas for children and plenty of space for riding bikes. On Saturdays during the summer, the owners host events such as live music, ice cream socials and other fun diversions. National Road Campground is very family and fun oriented. A great place to stay!

Chelsea very friendly and helpful with phone reservation and texting confirmation
Good overnight stay just 1 mile off of Interstate 70
Wooden picnic table
Toilet/shower house very clean
Good night sky viewing
Nice small lake and small splash pad
Mostly quiet except for noise from National Road
CONS
Shore power breaker bad at assigned campsite so had no power at our site but park handyman arrived quickly and changed out the breaker
Pull-thru site #18 was very unleveled from front-to-back; hitch was on ground and rear stabilizers were fully extended with blocks underneath
No one available at check-in office on a Friday afternoon and we had no idea what site we had been assigned by Chelsea
No mention of needing a code for toilet/shower building and was not provided one, so had to scurry to find it when nature called
Paid cash in order to avoid 3% credit card fee
Had to return to office to get paid receipt
No fire pit
No WiFi

One night stopover easy in and out, simple video instructions for late check in. We were there in the middle of the week and it was very quite. All you could here was the sounds of the fountain. Would definitely stop here again

Ok for an overnight but sites aren’t very level and there’s some traffic noise. Won’t stop again.
