Pretty lousy place. I could not open my awning if I wanted to because the rv’s were so close to each other. I was supposed to be here for 2 nights but left after 1
Older Thousand Trails Park with not a lot to do in town but visit Lucky Ducky Distellery, Carolina Cider ( darling shop), and in particular the Old Sheldon Church Ruins. Laundry here is nice although we didn’t use it. Sites are level gravel with lots of trees so no satellite but they have cable. WiFi in office only.

We checked into The Oaks at Point South RV Thousand Trails. Although the campground is a bit small and the campsites are very close together, the staff was friendly and the bathrooms were clean. They also had a wifi hotspot in the reception area with a very quick connection. We only stayed one night but we had a restful stay and would stay here again if we were passing through.
The sites are all pull through and the ground is level.

We stayed the week at The Oaks at Point South outside of Yemassee, South Carolina, which is inside the national Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor. This park has a lot of negative reviews, “This one feels a little sad for some reason.” Thousand Trails parks are usually “resort like” parks with plenty to do, well maintained, chipper staff that float on clouds around the park. This park is clearly not being maintained to the usual standards of a modern campground, but that may not really be an issue. As long as people come to this park knowing it is a great little place in the woods to park that has electricity that usually works (we had two 10 second power outages, that we know of at least) with good water (didn’t smell like one reviewer stated) and sewer hook ups, it is a good use of the membership. It is only about 45 minutes from here to Hilton Head island and 25 minutes to Beaufort where you can enjoy a quaint little town. The trees and the mud here are the biggest issue, Thousand Trails members often have big rigs and trying to navigate them between the plentiful trunks on basically logging paths is the only real challenge here. There are no over the air TV channels, the cable TV is analog and fuzzy…but yes, we have cable TV here, in our camper, in the woods.

We stayed here on our way South and think the park was just fine. It was all dirt roads and sites and it had rained a few days before - so we had some little bits of mud. I can see how if it rained more or while you were there - it would be a bit of a mess. Some of the sites had a little gravel in them and that helped some, but just be ready for this.
The staff was friendly and the front office had some games, a pool table and free wi-fi in that area that worked quite well.
Around the RV park there were some walking trails that went around a small lake and it was a nice place to be to step away from the RV park. This trial is shared by the KOA next door but that was not a problem.
We did find that the proximity to the highway cause a bit of road noise at night, but nothing major.
We found the location to be okay. When we needed a grocery store we had to go about 20 minutes. We also decided to go to Hilton Head and it took about 1 hour. So if you are planning on going to those places, you might stay closer. But we cannot complain about a free stay with Thousand Trails!

We've stayed at The Oaks at Point South twice now. Once in April 2017 and then again in November. Our first stay was MISERABLE. We've got a 38ft Class A and we had the smallest site in the park. The whole place was a swampy mess. It was filled with beat up, messy rigs that looked like they belonged in a landfill. We vowed to never return...
The dilemma we faced in November was that there is a tiny distillery down the street that has AMAZING peanut butter moonshine. We couldn't pass by and not stop to pick up a few bottles. Seriously, it's THAT good. With hesitation, we made our reservation at The Oaks.
To our suprise, the park had made some MAJOR changes! Many sites had been filled in with crushed rock, the sites themselves and their occupants had cleaned up, the pool was fixed and overall the park was looking GREAT! We enjoyed the Thanksgiving potluck, the staff was ridiculously friendly and the cell service was excellent for working remote with both Verizon and AT&T.
We were really impressed with how hard the staff has worked at The Oaks to make the park more enjoyable for their guests. We would ABSOLUTELY return!!!!

Was told by TT this was booked full (Jan 2019) but showed up anyway because we needed a place to stay. There were several sites open despite TT telling us they were full on the phone. We were put in a nice quiet site the the back. So grateful they had an opening. We enjoyed walking around the pond here. Small towns nearby for visiting historical sites. We also enjoyed downtown Beaufort. Would visit again!

An older CG under a vast number of shady trees with fairly spaced out sites. Trees may be difficult to negotiate in some spots, but saw no one having problems moving even the bigger class A's around the grounds. Good FHU connections and Cable. Wifi limited to the clubhouse. Sites are gravel/dirt most were drive through and looked level. Bathhouses are older and in need of upgrade but were cleaned regularly and were serviceable. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Nice trails around lake for walking. Not much to do at Point South but does provide 25 mile access to Beaufort SC and an easy run down to Savannah. Great access off I-95 with negligible highway noise.

It's a small campground. The sites are quite tight. But the Rec Hall is equipped with a lot of stuff to enjoy, as well as a library and a games/toys collection for children. The location is very good - Savannah and Charleston are very close. Very friendly employees. In my video review I'm showing every corner from Rec Hall to bathhouses.

This seems like a one night stop for most people and is one of the smaller of the Thousand Trail’s locations we’ve stayed at. The pool was nice and cool on hot days and they didn’t mind us working/hanging out in the clubhouse all day to beat the heat. There weren’t any activities while we were there and there isn’t much for younger kids to do but it’s a nice stop on our way back to Florida.
WiFi in the clubhouse which is only open until 8 but the WiFi can be reached from out front and the bathrooms. Laundry was $1.75 to wash and $1.50 to dry or they had a clothesline outside to hang everything on. All sites had cable as well.
Verizon service wasn’t as good as our T-Mobile at our site but we got things done. The KOA just down the road has a pizza place, coffee shop, and does propane refills.
